How about the woman that made the Body Shop really big? (some say that she started the business, others say that she “stole” the idea from the Body Shop in Berkeley, California! either way, she took an idea and made it HUGE – she passed away in the past five year of cancer, but the Body Shop is still going strong, even if some think that she sold out to corporate interests)
How about the woman that started making shoes for infants in her home and that turned into a global business (I think they’re called “Robees”).
EDIT:
Christine Magee in Canada took the “Sleep Country” brand from the US (licensee) and made “Sleep Country Canada” a household name.
Estee Lauder
Helena Rubinstein
Debbi Fields (Mrs Fields Cookies)
I picked these three because you can find a lot on information about them on the internet.
Hope this helps
