Start with your bank. If they’re not willing to loan you money they may know some people to put you in touch with to make an equity investment. Good luck.

I wouldn’t burden all the risk on yourself with a bank loan. If I were you, I would meet with corporations and prepare a good presentation on your idea. Then, if they like it, you would have to negotiate the terms — they may want to buy it from you, or have a stake in it, for their investment.

For inventors that don’t have the money to market and/or produce their product, they usually sell it to the corporation and work on their next idea, rather than risking everything trying to market their first idea (and if they are inventors, likely marketing is not their strongest point). Of course, they would have a patent or what is referred to as a “stake” or cheap preliminary patent beforehand (since patents are so expensive, inventors would have to get huge, huge sums of money in debt just to cover these costs).

As with inventors, the fact that you have it marked will protect it during negotiations. You may like to meet with several corporations and get competing offers, but likely ones only in your country. Any large global corporation could simply get the trademark and bank on it internationally (this is also true with patents, and is why medicines are often created by different companies in different countries).

    Good luck.
