   Yeah, Citi are a bunch of coniving theives. ha ha ha. Seriously though, I hate them. You should call and complain and get your money back. I cancelled my card, and then the next month they would bill me all these credit protector and finance charges…finance charges on NOTHING. But it was like $3 finance charges. I would have to call them every month for about 4 months and tell them to take the charges off and cancel the card already. It was so irritating. Call them and yell at them.

   I assume that you have bill pay online and that Citibank cuts the checks for you and that you aren’t physically writing the check yourself. The check Citibank cut for you is drawn on Citibanks accounts. What they do is transfer the money from your account into theirs ( and post it as a payment to the payee) to cover the check they are cutting on your behalf. Citibank can’t cut a check on your account they have to do it from one of their accounts.
