Good idea, but I don’t think so.

Why not ask your bishop if there is a home study seminary course?

Afraid for the 2nd coming, lol
Your teacher must have a unique teaching style.

I dont think they offer seminary online. Part of seminary is actually going. I think attendance actually counts the most.

Hey it sounds like you at least get to take seminary during the day.
I went to seminary at 6 am for 4 years thru high school so quit your whining!

It is hard to get home seminary. You have to have medical problems that make dangerous to go outside or be in contact with other people.

Seminary is not all that bad. I didn’t know anyone (but the teacher) all four years.

I don’t know of any online seminary classes.

I learned important lessons in seminary that have stayed with me throughout my life. I can’t say that about all of my other classes.

i don’t think so. but i do know that they offered home study type stuff- but that is more for make-ups when you miss, not to replace the class. also only utah has it in school- the rest of us had to go before school, so i don’t know if they would even offer that to you. either way in my experience, the make-ups were always more time intensive and actually required you to study and do some work. where just showing up was enough to pass and graduate…

You might be able to work something out with your institute teacher but you would have to ask them to find out.

No. Those who live within any distance at all from an available seminary teacher are expected to go to that seminary, without exception. Even those who live too far away or are physically unable are usually assigned a teacher. There is absolutely nothing online.

And I know this, because I’ve had many friends who’ve lived out in the middle of nowhere. Even they had teachers, though it was usually their own mother or father.

As for seminary being boring…maybe it’s not always exciting, but I wasn’t really all that great about going, and I regret it now. There’s so much you can learn if YOU are willing to put in the effort and pay attention. Even with a boring teacher, you can still learn if you’re open.

And keep in mind that if you want to go to BYU or go on a foreign mission, you need to have graduated seminary. BYU or any of the church schools always look first at your recommendation from your seminary teacher, your bishop, and then your test scores. It’s stupid to limit your options just because you’re bored.

As for the death thing…well, I can’t say that I remember it really ever being brought up in seminary unless we happened to be reading scriptures about it at the time. Maybe you’re just paying attention at the wrong moments? There’s a lot more to seminary then that, and even if it IS brought up a lot, you shouldn’t be afraid of death. As long as you’re keeping the commandments, it shouldn’t be an issue for any of us.

I’d keep going. You may get a less boring teacher next time, and you may just learn something now. You really will regret it later if you don’t.
