the part of the movie in slumdog millionaire where the women are all washing clothes and the guys start attacking the women and start to take over their community… The two boys are trying to get away and the God Rama appears in the alleyway. That seems kind of like a random event? Why did he appear in the alley and what does he have to do with the movie? It was just kind of confusing. Thanks.

Hey I starred your question because I literally just finished watching this movie with my mom and I had the same question. I was hoping someone more knowledgeable than me would answer this question first, but I thought I would put in my 2 cents too. So here goes: From what I understood of that whole part of the film, the men were coming to exterminate the muslims living in the slums, ie jamal and his family were Muslims. I dont think that the person in the alley was a literal figure of the deity, however I think it was someone’s attempt to disguise their child to convince the men coming to “cleanse” the slum that they were not Muslims. The men would not murder a child disguised as a Hindu god. It also was one of the memories that Jamal recalled to answer a question in Who wants to be a millionaire. Those are just my guesses and I don’t really know, but that’s how I interpreted the scene in the movie. hopefully someone who really understood can give you a better answer. I want to know too.
